Our Market study section is designed to identify
various consumer trends going on in the emerging
world of wireless technology. It’s the Peter Lynch part
of the WIDAT philosophy. The market study section
starts off by seeing what kinds of activities the
technology savants are doing - the kind of trends that
will make it into mainstream when standards make
them cheap enough.
As often the case for many technologies, new
innovations often fail to ever make it to market. The
market study section pays special attention to the
technology hobbyist activities: the kind of products
they are buying, and how those products make
improvements or even change the way we live.
The WIDAT Market Study Section will take a close look
at what is going on the areas of 3G, WiFi, and 802.16.
We will track consumer adoptions of new technology in
these areas. We will bring market studies about when
notable trends start to emerge. We plan to watch
supplier trends as they respond to consumer
acceptance. We will watch suppliers as they form
alliances and licensing arrangements, to manufacture
and distribute these products at a price the
consumers want.
